The Port Museum
Located in Douarnenez, the Port Museum is dedicated to the boats and men of the sea, from Brittany and beyond. Accept this invitation to discover the richness of the maritime world, the know-how and techniques of boat building, and life on board a ship or in port.
With 1,500 m2 of permanent exhibition space and 1,300 m2 of temporary exhibitions, the museum offers guided or self-guided tours of its rich collections, reconstructions, photo exhibitions, events and themed workshops for all the family.
The only museum of its kind in France, the Port Musée de Douarnenez invites you to visit the boats docked in the exceptional setting of the ria of Port-Rhu: a gabare sablière, a Breton langoustier, a Thames barge and a British steam tug.
